San Gil Fake Hostel macondo

(sorry meant to stick this the first time in the Colombia thread, sorry for the repeat)

Shauns house, Macondo in San gil is a great place to go and everyone should definatley visit San Gil.

Just be aware that Shaun moved about 2 years ago and the people in his old house are taking in Backpackers without explaining they are not the Macondo Hostel. The address in the current LP is the old one so people go there thinking there at macondo when there not.

The real Macondo is a proper hostel staffed 24 hours with good info, security and great atmosphere.

please let people on the road know and if you meet people who stayed at the fake and didnt like it or had problems there let them know the difference.

and yes Im friends with Shaun, I think every guest he has leaves there as a friend, but I met people who stayed at the other place and missed out on all the fun
