Salvador pousada for solo traveller recommendations (and other fun things to do!) por favor!

Hello you lovely lot!

I am off to Salvador and then onto Morro de Sao Paulo next week for a week or so, can anyone recommend any amazing pousadas they stayed in around these areas? I am a female solo traveler, very sociable but sometimes enjoy a private room. I want to visit the old town of Salvador and soak up the colonial sights and then a few days exploring the beautiful coast line and island of Morro.

Craving adventure and culture! So any activity/sight seeing recommendations are much appreciated also!

Read as thoroughly as possible the site www.salvadorcentral.com to get an idea of things to do and see, and a general orientation to the city.
In Barra (10-15 minutes to Pelourinho):
Pousada Estrela do Mar, at Farol da Barra, w/ Irish owner and some charm
Hotel Barra Turismo (Fit) comfortable, nondescript but right across from the beach at Porto da Barra, great view of beach from breakfast room
In Morro you can let one of the guys put your luggage in a wheelbarrow and take you around to look at a few pousadas in a stated price range.
Pousada Portal do Morro, in the Vila, is reasonable, comfortable and the rooms on the courtyard are quiet. Owner Lida and her husband are very sweet.

why don't you try to stay with locals through airbnb.com? usually cheaper
