Hello! | ||
US citizens - you are one???? - do not need/cannot get a visa for Schengen. Remember that you can MAX stay for 90 days (in Schengen TOTAL) during a period of 180 days. You report to the person running the harbour first place (the one you after all must report to to pay "rent", get electricity andwhatever) and tell that you are enterering Norway first time - he will direct you to the police station or whatever. You probably MUST arrive to a larger town as first harbour unless in an emergency. | 1
Yeah, thanks for the advice! My friends and I (all averaging around 24) are a little (by a little I mean A LOT) ignorant with the whole procedure of check ins and such... But don't you worry! We've had much experience on the water in my trusty sailboat. | 2
I'd be careful and check if I were you. Often this "you don't need a visa" thing only applies if you are arriving at an approved location by an approved means of transport. So, for example, a friend of mine is arriving in the USA on a yacht next year, and for this she has to go to the US Embassy and get a proper visa. That's the other way around, but these things are often reciprocal. | 3
Contact the Norwegian Embassy in the US and ask... | 4
