Safari Operator Suggestions from Musoma/Mwanza/Tairime

I'm a poor college student based by Tairime. After my 3 month service posting, I'm thinking of doing a safari (Musoma -> Serengeti -> Ngorongoro -> Tarangire) and/or Zanzibar that ends in Dar.

Any suggestions on tour operators based west of the Serengeti? Should I do the safari with the operator and do the rest by myself?

John - what type of visa do you have? If you have a non-resident "C " permit you may be able to enter the national parks at a discount rate - but not quite what the locals pay. I agree - joining a group will be your best option to see all for less.
