Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

Anyone know how late this bus runs? I arrive 10:30 pm on NYE. Thanks.

8pm, I think

If below link is correct it looks like 8 pm.

New Years Eve. Hmmmmmmm!

How many people? Same price in a meter taxi for one passenger or 4 more if you can get the luggage in.

If you are only in another city in Thailand try to arrive on an earlier flight.

Just me, I will likely just take the regular city bus

3

Do you mean the city bus outside the airport? Another alternative is to just sleep at the airport and leave it till morning.

4

Sleep at the airport on NYE? That's okay if you just want to forget about the ocassion.

5

I am a senior so not interested in sleeping at the airport. I have been to Bangkok several times so should be able to manage the bus.

6

Which bus ?

7

Do you mean buses outside airport , or the other bus from the airport you take to the train station ?

I don't think many regular buses go to KSR. If you want to go somewhere else on the BTS system (or MTS) the tourist buses are still probably a good bet.

If you want to catch a bus in the street they most buses will go to the Moh Chit BTS station -- this will get you the Skytrain and the underground station. Some buses take a long route or not go there, so ask "Moh Chit" or "Chatchuchek". I usually use the yellow bus #29 which runs till late at night. Many people will get off at Moh Chit. Usually, the conductress will tell you. From there you can get onto the Skytrain network. There is a lot of signposting in English.

Buses stopping on the same side as the airport go towards BKK. The underground train station also is located near the Moh Chit stop.

Buses mightnt GO to KSR but to close by surrounding streets.

11

if arriving at BBK get a cheap room at Thong ta hotel. they will pick you and bring you back the next morning , all for about $25.00. As of last march a bus runs about every hour from near the exit end of the airport for about three dollars, us. It will drop you off at KSR. That includes a breakfast at Thong Ta. easiest way to do it.

We stayed there a few years ago and got free transfers,

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, I am meeting others, and have a reservation, so I guess I will just suck it up and take a taxi. I have had to threaten to jump out if they did not turn the meter on etc. - was hoping to avoid the drama that seems to come with airport taxis. Happy New Year everyone, I will be welcoming 2019 from a taxi!

14

If you get your coupon and go to the designated taxi rank, you shouldn't have a problem with the driver not wanting to use tthe meter. The coupon gives contact details if there is one.

15

I have never had a drama with an airport taxi or certainly not the last 5 or 6 times i have used them. The meter goes on automatically without any need to ask. Maybe this was different years ago but certainly not my experience in the last few years.

16

Maybe it is just because I am a senior woman I have a problem every time I arrive at night. I have often had problems in the past 3 years. Not a big deal, I can make them turn on the meter, but hate having to deal with the hassle. I will be fine.

17

apparently, its better to go to Arrivals and pick one up there that has just dropped someone off...

18

Negotiable fare but no comeback if anything goes wrong. Unlike the official taxi stand.
