I've made some lovely rosehip syrup and now I'd like to know what I can do with it. Any (culinary) suggestions?
Looks good but never tasted them .Have not seen them in the tropics. The fruit we can get here that looks slightly similar are tree tomatoes.Makes an equally tasty jam. | 1
We used to pour it into rice pudding. Real nursery comfort food. We also used to dilute and drink it like a cordial. Might be interesting with vodka, now I think of it. | 2
Be good as a sauce dollop over vanilla icecream | 3
...ummm rosted duck with rose water syrup... (you may have to thin the syrup with A LOT of water and marinate (& baste) for a day or so). | 4
Rose hips are only good if you open them up and stuff the 'insides' down someone's jumper at Skool... | 5
pour over plain yoghurt for a lovely dessert. | 6
It is great with venison, pheasant, quail, etc. Or on top of Sabayon or turned into rose hip jelly... | 7
I was fed it as a little kid, as some sort of 'tonic' or vitamin supplement. It's never occurred to me to think of it as a sauce or anything 'foodie'! | 8
