I'm probably going to renting a car soon, so that I can get around the Peloponnese area quicker. I want go visit the 5 World Heritage sites there, plus head over go Delphi as well. I'm figuring that a week in a car should be enough. I'm wondering about average accommodation costs. So far (in the islands) I've been averaging 24 or so Euros a night, breakfast included. Except in Athens, where a dorm bed cost me 9 Euros a night (no brekky). I've been using booking agencies so far. If I don't use a booking agency (I try my best not to plan things in advance too far), and I just find places as I drive along, am I still looking at about 25 or so Euros a night average? Normally, I try my best not to have the restriction of staying in a place that I've booked online. I'd rather just do my own thing as I go along. But I don't want to do that if it's going to increase my accommodation costs horribly. All advices appreciated. Ta.
Is this budget on a shared room or you travel solo? I guess you could land a single room for around 25-30 euro as you go on mainland, but I doupt breakfast included. Then, you never know... Remember that most people stay at least 3-4 nights on each island, often they spend only one or two nights on different mianland spots though anf this increase a lot the cost for hotels. Cleaning and washing linen and stuff.... | 1
Cheers for replying. I'm travelling solo. The only shared room so far was in Athens. | 2
There are very very few hostels with dorms in Greece outside of Athens in general. | 3
