Renting a House in Las Penitas (or somewhere like Las Penitas

Does anyone know of any house rentals in Las Penitas, or resources to find a house? Looking for mid to late July this year.

Or does anyone know of any rentals in a place like Las Penitas (i.e., beach town, quiet, some restaurants/bars)

What would be the going price for a modest house on the beach -- clean, furnished, 1 room, bathroom, kitchen with basic supplies. We've seen things on VRBO for about $350 a week. Is that a good price? If you wait to find something when you go down, can you find good places cheaper?

check out www.nicaraguaescape.com. they have two beach house rentals in a small beach/fishing village in jiquilillo. rates are about $80 - $100 a day with full kitchen, bath, and choice of one or two bedroom. there is also "tropicali" which you may find at VRBO owned by an italian which is $60 a night. if you are looking for a quiet quaint fishing village with very little development, tourism, great surf, kayaking in central america's largest mangrove system, this is the place for you. friendly for beginner to intermediate surf, a couple of local bars and restaurants to choose from, and very little rip currents for kids and adults alike. pics and info also at www.rancho-esperanza.com for more info about the community.

I would just go to Las Penitas. There are lots of places to rent for short term, or long term. Once you are there, you can pick and choose. No problem getting there, or back to Leon. The bus runs every hour.
