Rent a car in KyrgyzstanCountry forums / Central Asia / Kyrgyzstan
Hi, in September my wife and me want to travel for 2 weeks to Kyrgyzstan. We would like to rent a car for self driving. So far we have only found "Kyrgyz Rent Car Company". Do you know any other rental car companies? What was your experience? Thank you. Best regards,

It will be better to use a car (taxi) with the driver. You can keep it for all the trip or use them on a day basis. Michel | 2

Of course 2007 is not 2014 but a car is a car, a driver a driver. I don't know why you don't want use a taxi driver (a real one or not) Michel | 4
Actually car rental is becoming quite a bit more common. There are at least 4 companies that do it now. (Hopefully this doesn't break the no advertising rules...it is a direct answer to the question). I actually run a tour company which also rents cars and jeeps for self drive. Part of what we do is support trips by providing driving advice, helping you locate places to stay, and giving recommended driving routes and road conditions. All of our cars are If we can help feel free to look us up at www.ihn.kg or email me directly at travel@ihn.kg. I think we still have some vehicles available at the time that you mentioned. Either way, if I can help give you any ideas or find anything you need please don't hesitate to ask...I am thrilled when anyone visits Kyrgyzstan, whether or not they work with my company. I'm admittedly biased...I think renting from us is great:) However, here is a list of all the rental companies I know of or have dealt with. We often rent cars if we don't have sufficient quantity or not the right class of vehicle for some of our tours. Hope that helps. A couple things to look for. Be aware that a lot of cars here are right hand steer (wrong side for KG), you'll have to decide whether or not your comfortable with that. Often right hand steer is cheaper, but it takes a few to get used to it. People do drive like crazy in Bishkek, the villages and rural areas are much better. Check about insurance. I carry it and I know that Almaz carries it, I'm not sure about the other companies. Hope this helps! | 5
