Reliability of Uzbek Embassy in Washington, DC.

Country forums / Central Asia / Uzbekistan

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Have any of you applied for a single-entry

tourist visa through the Uzbek Embassy in Washington

recently? How long did it take to get your passport back?

I have a USA passport. I have heard the terrible stories about

the Azerbaijan Embassy in Washington and they have caused

me great concern. Thank you for your attention.

I obtained an Uzbek visa from the Washington embassy a couple of weeks ago and did not have any problems. It cost $160 and took 10 days under normal processing time. They give you a pick up date and mine was ready on that day. I live in Washington, though, so I was able to drop it off and pick it up in person. I don't know how well they do in terms of mailing your passport back to you.

Believe it or not but I got an Uzbek visa in Washington within... a half day ! That was last week. The embassy received my visa request on friday around 3h30pm, and they mailed me back my passeport (canadian) with my visa stamped inside in the same day. I did not pay any extra. I guess they were probably going on vacations the week after and they quickly processed all the requests before leaving...
Good luck.

Dear Unusual,

Enjoy Central Asia. Thanks again! Padabru.
