| nadja_from_berlin17:31 UTC30 Aug 2007 | Hi - I'm new to this platform - please excuse any "uncommon" language or somewhat stupid questions ;-)
I will be living in CapeTown for 3 months - during most of my time there I will do an internship in the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, BUT my first two weeks of October are free and I am wondering what do then.. On a previous trip to SA I have travelled from Jo'burg to Capetown - therefore I have seen a lot of the north/east/south coast. Therefore I am now thinking Namibia, Botswana.. Since I will be a solo female traveller I wanted to join a tour and have now three options - and I find it difficult to decide: does anybody out there have experience with the tour operators that I have contacted and with the tours and recommend?
The offers I have are: 1) OverlandingAfrica.com - Windhoek to Victoria Falls *10 days 2) felixunite.com - 10-Day Okavango Experience tour 3) www.nomadtours.co.za - 13 Day Best of Namibia Camping
Weatherwise - it sounds like there have been above average rainfalls feeding the Okavango Delta - but it seems to very hot - is it recommendable to go in October?
Thank you so much for your advise - and if anybody wants to join me on a tour or experience together the CapeTown area after Oct, 15 - that would be great!
Nadja.

According to personal experience living in and around Southern Africa, October will be hot in ALL your chosen destinations :o).
But the humidity in the Okavango could be smothering...
I saw a thread here which had some good advice about overland trips. It seems you need to dig a little to be sure the company is reputable.
Good luck!
