Recommend quiet, pretty, budget hostel in Siem Reap?

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Cambodia

Where would you recommend for someplace with some dignity, maybe a garden setting, not populated with loud drinkers (quiet drinkers maybe!), while still on a small budget? Single room, fan, walk to center of town. thanks thorntreers.

As it's always difficult to read just what people are looking for, I would suggest a tour of the extremely small town and look into a couple of places yourself. It's low season and a jaunt round on a bike or tuk tuk shouldn't set you back more than a few dollars, worth it to find exactly just what your needs are. The place where i stay ticks all the boxes aside from the garden setting, we even have a pool ...........just no water in it!

Hope you have a great trip.

check out travelfish.com. if no luck here
Whilst I would tend to agree with what #1 has said this may not be the best option if you are ariving late or after a long journey. I would often check in somewhere and then when I am a bit more relaxed or the next morning or just simply without the luggage have a look round for somewhere that better meets my criteria for the rest of my stay. In addition I would not want to be at the mercy of a Tuk tuk driver when looking for somewhere to stay I would just get them to drop me off in the right area and as for going for a jaunt on a bike to look for accomodation not the most practical with luggage

Garden Village or Downtown Siem Reap Hostel

I always stay at The Two Dragons. A nice room was around $12.

Try "Panda Guesthouse" one of the very best. Check it on TA.
