Re-makes...

Interest forums / Culture Vultures

Lets say that it wouldn't get butchered - what film would you like to see a remake/update/sequel of & why?

Inspired by the canceled sequel to "The wicker man" (the excellent orig, not the butchered remake)...

Debbie Does Dallas for obvious reasons.

1

I'd be interested in a "Grapes of wrath" - perfect move for Christian Bale!

2

I'd like to see To Kill A Mockingbird remade. Except I have a horrible feeling they'd cast someone like Tom Cruise as Atticus. Just cries out for it: a fantastic, contemporarily relevant, story. Mmmmm Clooney as Atticus...

3

In honor of the passing of Charlton Heston I'll say Planet of the Apes by someone competent and not Tim Burton. With better special effects and monkey costumes it could really be good.

4

How about Bugsy Malone remade with former members of the Clinton White House instead of all those cute little kids? George Stephanopolous could take Scott Baio's title role of Bugsy. Robert Reich could be the money guy. And that cigar girl...what was her name?

5

I'd like to see Pamela Anderson do the business all over again in Flashdance. And I think Jack Black would be sensational in reprising Brando's - Terry in - On The Waterfront.

6

Chuck they did do a remake of Debbie Does Dallas, it was starring all the Vivid girls.
