Queen Charlotte Track

I am considering walking the Queen Charlotte Track sometime in early July. I've got a couple questions for anybody who has done it.

1) Any comparison between the QCT and the Coastal Track in Abel Tasman? Which is more worth doing?

2) How possible is it to walk only part of the QCT (on a low-budget without hiring charter transportation to leave before the final destination)?

Track info - google is remarkably helpful for this kind of thing.

It's easy to just walk a few parts of either of those tracks. Can't comment on which most worth doing as they are quite different, but both great. You tend to get more panoramic views of the sounds on the QCT.
