Poznan Advice

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Poland

Hi,

I'm going to be visiting Poznan in a few weeks and would like advice on what places nearby are must see and easy to get to by public transport?

Also, what is the best way to get from the airport to the centre of the city?

Chris.

Hi Chris, You can take a bus from Lawica airport to the city centre(main railway station area) - L bus leaves every hour and there is another one nr 59 - this one has more stops on the way but in both cases it's best to leave the bus on the last stop. It should not take more than 20-25 minutes and you can buy a ticket in any shop with newspapers at the airport. If you want to get to the Old Town Market Square you will have to take a train from the last bus stop and go another 5 minutes or just walk for around 15 minutes. It's really easy:-)

Thanks Sowisko,

On the way back I have a 6am flight. Do busses run through the night and if not is it easy to get a taxi early in the morning?

Chris.

There is a night bus from the main railway station at 3:29am. The number of the bus is 242. It takes 15 minutes to get to the airport. It should also be fine to take a taxi, I am not sure about the cost of it but I would say it will not be more than EUR 10.00.
