I spent last year living and working in India and I became very close with some of the families I worked with. I would like to write them but hate feeling that would feel obligated to write me back when they truely cannot afford the postage. I want to send them some postage so they can write to me. Does anyone know an internet site or a way to purchase postage in the US to send with my letter to them. If I send them money they would be offended.
Hello friend, | 1 | |
Luverne, it is not really expensive to mail letters from India. I would suggest you send them letters but don't indicate that they should write back. | 2
Postage from India is not as expensive, if instead of using envelope and paper, they use an aerogram. I dont know what it sells for now but about 4 years ago, it used to be Rs. 7 | 3
Luverne, it would be a good idea to enclose an International Reply Coupon with your letter - enfold it in the sheet/s of your letter so that it is not visible through the envelope. See this link for more info: http://pib.nic.in/archieve/lreleng/l0299/r120299.html

Good luck. | 4 | |
