Portugal with 3 young kids - any accom.picks? (Lisbon & Carvoiero)Country forums / Western Europe / Portugal
Hello, I will be travelling in Portugal and Spain from 8 Jul to 8 Aug with my family (2 adults, and 3 children who will be aged 4, 2 and 4 months.) We have air tickets but now I need to book accommodation and rail trips. Apologies this is a cross-post with the Kids to Go section… hoping to catch some expertise on Portugal if anyone is willing and able to share any tips. We will be in Portugal towards the middle/end of July for 6 nights. Is anyone able to please recommend any apartments, hostals, pensiones or other more 'budget' accommodation suitable for a family? We have 2 nights in the Algarve (as close to Carvoiero as possible, as we’ll be visiting but not staying with family) and 4 nights in Lisbon. We don't need hotels with flashy interior decor/in-house internet/gyms etc, just a clean safe space big enough for us. It doesn’t seem to get so hot in Portugal that aircon is essential – hope I’m not wrong! We prefer to all be in the one room / apartment together rather than in 2 separate rooms. Also it would be preferable to stay somewhere fairly centrally located, within walking distance to a train station as we will be using public transport and walking wherever possible. Apart from our two adult backpacks for all our family's gear we'll travel with an inline pram that carries the two older children plus a front-wearing baby carrier. So stairs would be difficult (though not impossible, we have managed before.) Is anyone able to please recommend any great (good value & centrally located) family places to stay in the following areas? Wherever possible we’ll take the train (or buses) between and within cities – should we book in advance? I would be extremely grateful for any tips on accommodation, or even train/bus connections between the cities (particularly any info on the best way to get from Seville to Carvoiero.) Thank you so very much for any help at all.
Yes it is better you book in advance. July and August is very busy. From Lisbon to Algarve Normally self catering apartments have a minim. rental days in the summer ( one week ). | 1

Hi there Someone recommended this company to me in an earlier thread: http://www.ferienwohnung-lissabon.de/index.php?_c=-1&l=2 I'm also travelling with kids and this place has loads of apartments all over Lisbon. I've done lots of research and their prices are pretty competitive. The person who recommended them to me said they had used them twice and found them to be reliable and helpful Demi | 4
