PLace to stay on landing in Bali

Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula / Indonesia

In about 10 days, we will get to Bali around 2 in the afternoon and are thinking that after the flight from the US via Taipei, we'll be pretty done traveling for a bit. The next day we are heading to Amed for a few nights of honeymoon splendor before a more budget month-long trip in Bali.

Can anyone recommend a good, nice, pretty comfy place for not too much money to stay on landing in DPS?
At the very least, what town close to the aiprot is the best place for us to look for a place to stay on landing that would be easy for weary fliers to manage and easy to leave from for Amed the next day? Obviously we won't be looking for parties or anything. Just relaxing, good food and a decent bed/shower.

Thanks!
Charlie

Hi.
It's a standard question - Denpasar airport is not in Denpasar - it's actually on the southern edge of the great Tuban-Kuta-Legian sprawl. The resort development starts just outside the airport, and it's just a quick twenty-minute taxi ride to central Kuta, which would definitely be the place to look for a hotel - and organising onward trasport from there will be easy too...

Hi, Masa Inn hotel is 3 km away from the airport, located at Poppies line 1, Kuta. 10 to 20 minutes by taxi for Rp 40.000 max (U$ 4.5). Cost for the hotel at around Rp 210.000 (U$ 23). Phone 62 –(0) 361 758507. Call first it’s often full.

Gazebo Cottages hotel in Sanur. About 20 minutes' taxi ride away. Sanur is quieter than the whole Kuta etc sprawl, and the Gazebo has a very laid back atmosphere and nice gardens. Ask for one of the detached cottages. There's a very nice bar overlooking the ocean and they have a restaurant with nice atmosphere but only so-so food. Five minutes' walk away, the Bonsai Cafe on the water offers simple but great seafood dinners. A wonderful place to decompress!
