Philipines in December

I plan to spend a week in Luzon (25th-31st December); Would I face any problem travelling during X'mas? Would it be a good time to travel to Baguio and Banaue during that time? Thank you.

Christmas and Easter are the worst times to travel anywhere in the Philippines. Everyone has somewhere else to be. This is when people have family time so half the population is on the move.

Is it hard to move around and find accomodation during that time? How long will the holiday last?

Yes, it is hard to find accomodation and its always traffic on the streets (heck, its even hard to find an empty cab!). You have to reserve a hotel room at least a month before the holiday.

For Filipinos, the whole month of December is a holiday. :)

and it extended untill January 6, which is "three kings day?"but, it can be fun, christmas is the best time for filipinos, poor or rich.see it yourself...

Do you guys think that I can get a guide for the Pinatubo trek during that time?

Sure. If you can find someone who is not keen to spend time with his/her clan or friends and more importantly, sober.
