Phi Phi

Country forums / Thailand / Thailand

Is there any place on Phi Phi that will be quiet-ish during January? I'm still struggling with planning 4 beach days on the andaman coast. Want laid back, but due to the short time span, want something not too hard to get to...love the cliffs and coast lines of that Krabi area.

p.s. was settling on a plan for BKK to Hat Yai to Pak Bara to Koh Lipe and Koh Bulon Leh...but then read some unsettling reviews describing the beaches as dirty and crowded and not at all the paradise people cite them to be...

Try Blue View Divers... I dived with them a few years ago, and they have a pretty nice little resort that's not too near all the noise on Ko Phi Phi, so you may have a good experience there.

Laid back east coast of Phi Phi is as nice as anywhere in the Andaman. Got a fair bit of info and pix on several pages HERE might help your planning. Only thing is accomm is limited on this part of PP so you need to book now.

Tezza, does this quieter area include the 'eastern limestone lump' from your page (long beach)? Or is it only the 'east coast' (Ao Poh bungalows and Relax Beach Resort)?

More the east coast - Relax, Ao Poh, Ao Toh Ko, Ao Rantee, Loh Bakeo and Laem Tong. Of the beaches on the south side of the eastern limestone lump, Long Beach gets a bit busy with daytrippers and arriving longtails in high season. Is still a nice beach if you can find somewher unbooked.

Okay....found limited places to stay there, but I suppose we could also book closer to long beach and then just walk over to the other beaches for a more relaxed day.

Now, is there a similar area on Ko Phangan or Tao?
Still deciding which beach area best suits us during high season...

Globetrotter - thanks for the suggestion. I found their dive info, i'll keep looking to check out their resort.
