paris accommodation/babysitting

Help! We are visiting Paris in August and need some accommodation that can offer babysitting services. We'd like to see a show or something while we're there. The only hotels I can find which offer this are the really expensive ones. As we have a budget of £300 for 3 nights accommodation, can anyone offer any advice? Ideally we'd like to stay in the Montmatre area if possible. Any help much appreciated.

You should consider using a babysitting service. Do you know anyone there? Most parisians are gone in summer and the babysitters are either gone as well or are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs and would be happy to get some employment. I use a babysitter for my daughter when I visit France but she works illegally and will be taking care of my daughter next month anyway.
