Pamir Highway updated infoCountry forums / Central Asia / Tajikistan
Hi, everyone: | ||
Hi, | 1 | |
Exactly. Sorry I didn´t mention it: I plan to cycle all along the Pamir Highway, hopefully visiting the Wakhan Corridor on the way, and crossing into Kirguistan in Sary-Tash. | 2
Yes, the Pamir Highway is open for international tourists all the way through from Dushanbe to the Kyzyl-Art pass and on into Kyrgyzstan. The big question now is whether the govenrment will make the final arrangements to open the Kulma pass directly from Tajikistan into China. The official documents have been processed since February 2012 but there are some final administrative arrangments still holding up the passage of international travellers onto the Karakoram Highway and the direct route to Kashgar. | 3
Yup, i can also confirm its open. I got word from my friend living in Murgab. Happy travels. | 4
I will be in the area cycling may-june-july this summer if you want to meet up. benski123@gmail.com | 5
Hi Found that (is it the confirmation of the Kulma pass opening?): Cheers! Silk Road: border entry and cooperation talks are progressing | 6
I haven't seen anyone talk about going from Bishkek to Dushanbe via the Pamir Highway. It IS possible, right? | 7
Kyrgyzstan is fine all the way. Bishkek and Osh are both very peaceful, and Spring has come, but its always good to check the news before you leave. | 8
