Palawan in August

Hi,

Me and my boyfriend are going to the Philippines in August (11th to 26th), and I am really keen on visiting Palawan North, although unable to decide due to:
- heavy rains in August?
- whereabouts: Port Barton, Coco-Loco Island, Flower Island, El Nido...?

We are not in a budget, but we do not want to pay overpriced accommodation.

We are definitly going to Boracay, but we are looking for something more "secluded" for a couple of days (Punta Ballo? Sugar Beach? Malapascua Island?)

Any advice on wheather and accommodation wellcome.

Visiting Samar in the Eastern Visayas? Check out this place near Calbayog. Samar Sea Beach Resort on the ocean has kayaks for rent and large, clean modern rooms at reasonable prices 500 pesos to 2500 pesos per nite. All rooms except one have aircon, private bath, refrigerators, cable TV. Moderately priced restaurant and bar. Disco on Saturday nites. This is the nicest accomodations I have seen in Samar.
