Pacuare River - one or two days?

Country forums / Central America / Costa Rica

Who is the best tour guide that does the best with doing all the rapids, and if two days, clean overnight and good meal? I am going to be there between May 13 - 17

I think doing it as a day trip is fine, I have not stayed overnight. This place has a home/lodge on the river. I am not sure it it includes more rapids are not with a overnight. The Rio Pacuare is usually between a Class III-V, depends on the rains. I have gone in May a few times and it was a fun work out as a IV.

FYI- they can transfer you between San Jose, and Playa Cahuita or Pt Viejo, as well to Tortuguero, and possible La Fortuna Arenal... The day trip from SJ or Caribe beaches includes Breakfast and Lunch, Dry Bags and a they have a house with showers/bathrooms and snacks/drinks at end too...

Yeah, think 1 day is fine. I don't think you get any more river on an overnight trip, they just take it slower. It's a nice lodge, have no idea on the food. People I talked to said there were some falls and pools to play in but not much else.
