One week in Namibia

Country forums / Africa / Namibia

Hi all,

I'm going to be in Namibia for almost 6 weeks, working at an observatory in the Khomas highlands. I have one week leisure time (the first week of the trip) and would like to know if anyone has advice for things I really must see. I imagine I'll see a fair amount of game while on the observatory site, but I would love to experience something else of the country while I'm there. Thanks in advance!

what about doing a one week tour covering eg Sossusvlei and Etosha as major highlights...? Probably the easiest (not the cheapest) way to see some more of Nam havin only limited time...

If you arrive in Windhoek, one week would be enough to see Sossusvlei and Etosha - You could embark on a organised trip if your alone and don't want to drive this by yourself, there's some 6 days trip that cover this. Otherwise it could be also nice to go see Sossuvlei and Lüderitz/Kolmanskop but might be harder to organise ?
