One month in South Thailand with a 4 years oldCountry forums / Thailand / Thailand
Hi there, We arrived in phuket on the 4th of December and are looking to stay in the same place for a month. Ideally a nice beach close by, nice food, peaceful and kid friendly. We were thinking about Rawai, koh Lanta, Koh Lipe...and eventually koh phangan. Do you have any other ideas or advices on these different location? Thanks for your help
If entering Thailand on the free Visa Exemption you get at the airport that requires flying out of the country before the 30 days is up. So count your days. If a little more than 30 days you might have to get a Tourist Visa. Were you planning on paying in full for a hotel room that you leave vacant for several days at a time? Some of the beach choices you are interested in are not all that close or that easy to get to. Phuket is the most expensive city to visit in Thailand if on a tight budget. Also you will be in Thailand during high season. With a little kid I would always consider how far away hospitals are located or even if good emergency service is available!
Good luck. | 1 | |

Statistically the weather is not so good on the Gulf islands in December so you might want to reconsider Koh Phangan at the time. | 3
Koh lipe is very small, koh phangan is not at its Best, in december. I have not been in rawai. I would go to koh lanta: plenty of little kids when I went there | 4
There is an argument to find a nice town and head to the beach for the day rather than spending it all on an island | 5
