One Evening in Frankfurt

Hi Guys,

Three of us have a 25 hour layover in Frankfurt, arriving at 2pm and departing 3pm the next day. Awkward timing, I know. Nonetheless, I'm looking for specific suggestions about how to spend our one evening and the following morning. We are staying in the Gallus area which I understand to be about 15-20 minutes from the airport by taxi. We're mostly interested in seeing 1-2 important sites and experiencing the local food & drink. I've heard about Heidelburg but I think it's a little out of the way given our time crunch. What areas would provide us the best "bang for our buck?" I really appreciate your input!

Mainz, direct connection from the airport. IMO more to offer than Heidelberg that especially is worthwhile a detour because of the castle and the wonderful setting on the river Neckar.

for food and drink go over to Sachsenhausen on the left bank of the Main river, there you find a lot of Appelwein bars most of them have food too.
