Oil spill effects

Hi everyone

I was curious to know how the Gulf Spill has affected the coast of Belize. There isn't much online in the way of answers so I was hoping some of the locals there or just people who are traveling there now will be able to provide some answers I'm curious to know if there are certain areas that are being closed or if dive spots are going to get hit. It might be too early to really tell but any information would be useful. Thanks!

No effect whatsoever anywhere in Belize waters because of the directions of the ocean currents.

Belize isn't on the Gulf of Mexico.

I've been looking at this too because i'm planning a trip through central america soon...my understanding is that it's all in the gulf on the US coast, shouldn't be a problem anywhere else.
