Nova Scotia -- recommendationsCountry forums / Canada / Canada
Dear friends, | ||
Nova Scotia is a great idea and a beautiful place, especially in the summer. Most of Nova Scotia tourism is oriented around the coast and beaches. There is one major city, Halifax, which is worth seeing. Cape Breton is the most famous region, but in my opinion overrated. I would suggest a loop through the southern half of the province and Halifax. Whale watching is great from Digby/Digby Neck. One place of note that has kayaking, hiking, and is within day-trip distance of whale watching is Trout Point Lodge. It's adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area, which is part of a UNESCO World Biosphere Preserve. You should also go up the 1 or HWY 101 and see Wolfville, Bay of Fundy, and Annapolis Royale. In Halifax, check out Prince George Hotel and Halliburton House. | 1
