I'm thinking of travelling from Trinidad to Venezuala. I was thinking of only staying a week or so in Venezuela, so was wondering what there was to do in this region. Also I'll be going during the week before Easter, which is Semena Santa, a national holiday, so I was wondering how this will affect my trip, for better or worse. If anyone knows anything about the ferry crossing too that would be helpful. Is it only Wednesdays from Chaguramas, or are there other options, such as from port of Spain? Any ideas would be much appreciated
The region where you get to - the Peninsula de Paria - is a beautiful place. There are rainforest and lonely beaches, cacao haziendas and hot springs. It is all more or less untouched, at least there are by far not that many tourists like in other regions of Venezuela. Unfortunately, that public transportation is not that good, but i always made it to where I wanted to go... Playa Medina is the best known beach there, but in Easter it will be full of people!!! But there a lot more "unknown" beaches. I did also a 2-day-trip to Los Testigos, which is a group of 7 uninhabited islands 3 hours from the coast (from Rio Caribe), but the trip is not offered a lot... | 1
