Nice to Athens

Hi all,
I need to get from Nice, France to Athens, Greece in late september. I need to find the quickest/cheapest way of doing this!
Any ideas?

probably something along the lines of train to Milan and budget flight to Athens.

Baboo has a direct flight on saturdays. It's the quickest option and it isn't too expensive. Try Skyscanner to look for cheap options changing flights.

Which do you want, quickest or cheapest? They rarely if ever go together as a moment's thought should tell you.

Cheapest is to walk, quickest is to fly. Most people would train to Ancona and ferry to Patras, then bus to Athens.

Then ask an intelligent question. No need to be an idiot about it.

I went to athens in 2006 i backpacked from nice in to italy and down to ancona italy where i got on a ferry to greece. when you take greek ferry and you get deck passage wich is the cheapest , it really is deck passage meaning you are outside on the top deck of the ferry and are not allowed to go inside for any reason, in most other countries when you get deck passage on a ferry it usually just means you don't have a room and are free to spend your time in any public space on the ship. this said if you have some warm clothes and a sleeping bag deck passage is not all that bad. you should also bring lots of food on the ferry with you , food is not cheap on the ship and it is not very good, stock up at a supermarket before. once you get to greece the ship docks in patras on the eastern side of the main land part of greece you have to then take a train across most of the main land to get to athens. this train ride takes up most of one day . to get to any other islands you are looking at another ferry ride. if you have a lot of time and need a few days to just rest and hang out on trains and boats this may be the way for you to go.

I can see from many of his posts that travelinstyle has got nothing better to say than sarcastic comment he props some misreable old git sat with nothing else but his memories of his youth, silly old sarcastic sod, I have looked on quite a few posts and there he is with his comments if you cant say anything nice don't say anything at all you were right to call him a silly T**t good on you.
