| dakink12:47 UTC15 Sep 2004 | Hello all,
Next spring we're hoping to do some trekking in Nepal. We're fairly experienced hikers though never on such long trips. We're planning a fairly touristy/beginners trek like the Annapurna Sanctuary or Annapurna Circuit.
We'd like to do this independently. What do you suggest; do we take a guide? do we take porters? do we take both? What are the advantages/disadvantages? And what would be the cost of either/both? I can imagine it being relaxed to have people take care of you but doesn't it get on your nerves, people around you all the time? Aren't the paths really easy to find on such well-trodden treks ?
Hope 2 hear!!
PS I am aware of the political situation. It may ruin the trip, but you gotta plan it anyway, we can always cancel/change our minds
