Hi, i m not sure if you can help but I am look for a B&B or hotel not too expensive for 4nights at the beginning of March, we have a child who is 13 months now. I also would like to ask, do you think we should spend those days in Cork city only ? What I had in mind was spending only one day there and do other daytrips,in order to have an impression of the surroundings as well/ I was wondering of renting a car, and possibly staying in other b&b... I know it's just a short time, so I thought about kinsale...any suggestions ? | 1
Wel it depends on your budget. If you stay in the City and rent a car many places are within in striking distance of the city. Kinsale is expensive for accomodation but has some great (again expensive mostly) food and views (which are free!). Where do you go after the 4 days - fly home? Nonetheless since ur not comin until march, the advance notice should give you a very good price on accomodation | 2
Advance notice did not work with thw two places I contacted.. one told me it was too early to book a room for March ! The other one did not answer at all..! But probably big hotels aren't fussy about booking...Yes after 4 days we are flying home, or better where we actually live (UK).where about did you stay in Cork ? | 3
Seriously?thats unusual then again Ireland can be backward. Your better off ringing them even if it costs a bit. Wel i live in Cork City centre so fire any questions my way down the line, im subscribed to the thread so wil know | 4
I will let you know how it goes, thanks | 5
We flew into Cork airport on Aug. 30th and drove directly to Kinsale - approx. 20 - 30 min. drive. We stayed at a lovely B & B - The Olde Bakery. I believe the cost was 40Euros per person per night, which compared to many other accomodations we had looked at was quite reasonable. The owners were outstanding and likewise the breakfast. The B & B was within walking distance to all the restaurants and pubs. We thought that Kinsale was lovely - one of the prettiest towns we saw during our 3 week vacation in Ireland. I would highly recommend Kinsale and this B & B. | 6
