Namibian ATM's & the Rains in EtoshaCountry forums / Africa / Namibia
Am flying to Namibia in 4 days time. I have a few questions:

Businesses should be open on the 27th. Saturday is Christmas, Sunday Boxing Day and Monday is back to normal. If you're in Windhoek there are plenty of options for sticking up on supplies (food I'm presuming)? Pick n' Pay, Checkers, Superspar and Shoprite are all supermarket chains in Windhoek - and it's a small city. | 1
Most ATMs don't take MasterCards so bring Visa. If you're coming from South Africa, bring South African Rands since it is accepted as local currency in Namibia. They'll give you change in Namibian Rand. And use all your Namibian Rand or exchange it before you leave the country because you will have tough time exchanging it outside of Namibia. I was on a camping tour in Namibia in November. It had several major storms but was great for photography. That said, because of the rain, you should mosquito repellent and seriously consider taking malaria pills. Have fun! Remember to try Namibian oysters. It is excellent! http://www.flickr.com/photos/youngadventure/sets/72157625578378522/ | 2
I think the withdrawal limit daily is 3000 namibian dollars. | 3
