music to slides on Galapagos islands

Interest forums / Culture Vultures

If you were to choose some music to put together with slides on the Galapagos islands, what would it be?

I used George Winston once (Summer & Winter into Spring) You can also try Michael Nyman, Philip Glass, Wim Mertens. Perhaps Pat Metheny or John McLoughlin if you want ot give it a latino guitar touch.

#2. Pehaps you mean that because, like the giant tortoises, the lead singer has no teeth either.;-)

3

BTW. Oh, I forgot! And he must be the same age by now!

4

Thanks so much . I will look into the different music mentioned.

5

The Genesis "Invisible Touch" album.

6

Slade

7

Actually Brian Eno may be worth checking out.

8

Err, more seriously, Mouse on Mars' early recordings would be great

9

There was a group in the sixties called The Turtles. It's not The Tortoises but it's close.

10

oh yes, Tortoise would be an excellent choice, as well as their sister band, the sea and the cake !!!

11

VinnyD, You may have been taking the mickey, but I've just listened to the Turtles on myspace and think they might come in useful!

12

I was taking the mickey, piaczka, but I'm glad it was of some help.

13

I guess that listening to songs from the Turtles that I last remember hearing when I was a child in the late 1960's had something to do with it, but also the pure joy and cheerfulness of the music is soothing. So, I see you are not just knowledgeable in the food department (getting stuffed)

How about Ecuador by Robert Miles

15

Thanks ToadOfToadHall, Robert Miles's work reminds me a bit of the work of the Polish artist, Novika. You should check her out, especially "Novika/Feat".

For Galapagos travel music, how about 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Thanks TravelingNInja, I guess that music would suit some of the volcano eruption scenes especially!
