Hello,

I am going to Cambodia (and Laos, depends how far I'll get) in December. As I like music a lot, I would love to know if there is anything of music festivities going on over there?

I went to Vietnam in Februari where I attended some music concerts in HCMC. I thought it was great (although I didn't understand a thing of course) ! I was quiet surprised to see such a great event by accident (just passed by it).

I also always buy local music in the country I am. But, that I'll find out easily when I am there.

If there might be events (even small ones), it would be nice to know the date and place so I can end up there during it!

Any local music venue in Laos will be locally advertised. Check with your guesthouse/hotel when you get to Vientiane. Most concerts will be during Lao New Year and actual New Year.

Occasionally, the local pop-music will have concert in convention center ITECC, locate about 10 minutes outside of the city.

Traditional Lao music can be heard every night in Luang Prabang at Phra Lak Phra Lam performance.

To bad you aren't in Laos now, Cope is having a big bash this Saturday, and it's for a real good cause. I've come to like the stuff everyone listens to on the busses etc. called mor lam. I think if you listen you can hear it's origins in trad lao music. There's a lot on you tube if you want to listen, just type in Laos and music. I've always liked these guys because of the way they mix three languages. You might like this (take note these are non traditional clothes).. The subject matter is typical, lost love and redemption.

Roadking, it was indeed at that park. The leaving went really quickly but so smoothly..
