i read in the bradt guide that this peak is off limits and wondered if anyone has climbed it?did you have any problems?or does anyone know of a good day walk in a similar area?easy to access by public transport?thanks
soniaby, may I ask what peak do you mean exactly? The Roman-Kosh in the Crimea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_Mountains)? | 1
yes thats the one | 2 | |
Well, it's the highest summit of the Crimean mountains and its height is 1545 m only but the Crimean mountains are situated right near the Black sea so a height interspace that you should surmount is the full 1545 m :)) Anyway, there is no problem to climb that peak. You should get there on foot or go to the foot of the mountain by auto because of absence any public transport going on there. It may be a nice day walk from Yalta. | 3
Btw, I've got nice albums from the Crimean mountains, here they are http://www.andrius.org.ua/topics/photo/travel-photoo</a> Crimea, august 2006 | 4
