Moto around Ella

Hi, I am pretty excited to be doing a motorcycle trip around Sri Lanka next month. I have an itinerary question. My plan is to drive from Kandy to Ella, overnight in Ella, explore around Ella the next day before driving to Udawalawe for the night.

My question is: is the area around Ella good for motorcycling? I don't plan on doing much hiking. If it is a great area for the bike, then I may spend an extra day. If not, then I will head to Uda for the night to do a safari the next day.

You don't say what sort of m'cycling, on road, off road, etc.

If I were you I would look at Google maps to see if there are any roads that you would want to explore. You can also go to Google earth to see what the roads and scenery are like.

I don't remember lots of roads to explore in the area, but I am a cyclist and it was some time ago that I was there. However, with a motor you can go a lot further afield than I would. Personally I would explore as I travel up from Kandy. Lots of little side roads that are worth a look.

Anyway, what's the worry, just wait til you get there and see what there is. You have the freedom.

Also you can look at Haputale area as well there are some good by roads if you are travelling by a motor .
