| hettyo15:46 UTC17 Mar 2007 | I've heard that Morelia is a great place...does anyone know of any cheap but quaint hotels/B&Bs for under US$50.00 a night? I am also looking to perhaps rent a place for a month (June/July). I saw something in San Miguel de Allende for $450.00 a month..there's gotta be something in Morelia for less than that, right?

Quaint, funky and charming, but more expensive, are the two mini-apartments of Casa de la Rosa; bedroom, bath, small kitchens, private patio space, free wi-fi hotspot; two blocks from the Plaza and Catedral. Rates English speaking hosts on premises. (Neither place includes breakfast, but you can cook your own at Casa de La Rosa, and there innumerable eating places, cheap to luxe, within a 10 minute walk.)
For cheap rentals, no charm nor quaintness, (and not an especially warm welcome, either) but clean and serviceable, try the Posada de Los Villa, on Padre Lloreda # 176, near the corner of Avenida SantamarĂa. We stayed there in 2004 for 15 days, but I don't know what the rates are now.
