Mont Blanc

Country forums / Western Europe / Switzerland

This is my first time abroad and I am trying to find my way to Mont Blanc. I am currently in Lugano, Switzerland but am having difficulty finding the best way to get to Mont Blanc other than driving directions... which is sort of out of the question for me because I'm traveling alone and get lost enough when driving in a country where I can speak the language haha. Could anyone help me out with a train and/or bus route?

Thanks! Safe travels to everyone!

take the train from Lugano to Aosta then the bus to Courmayeur then the cable car to Aguille du midi

1

Or take the train from Lugano to Luzern, change for the train to Lausanne, change for the train to Martigny, change for the train to Vallorcine, change for the train to Chamonix.

2

Train to Milan, metro to Milan Lampugnano bus station, then bus to Aosta - Courmayeur (Mont Blanc):
Milan dp 13.00, 17.00, 19.15 - Courmayeur ar 16.45, 20.45, 22.45

Or fly from Lugano (dp 7.00, 10.10, 18.15) to Geneva ( reduced fares for 110 USD round trip) and go on by bus or train

It's of course much easier and much faster to do this trip by car: more or less all well signmarked motorway
