Mondulkiri

Country forums / South-East Asia Mainland / Cambodia

Okay, I have searched Thorn Tree for information on this question, so I know to an extent that I am repeating old territory... but a friend and I are thinking about going to Sen Monorom in approximately four days or so. Based on what I've read, the road is great until Snuol and then bad after that. Can anybody comment on the quality of the roads right now or tell me who to contact (maybe an honest party in Sen Monorom) to find out? We love the idea of going to Sen Monorom, but we are unsure whether we want to take a risk of a really rough ride out there, for various reasons. How many hours of rough riding is it?

I did talk to someone who said that they would take us there in a truck for $20/person. This person was at 80th and 47th, north of Wat Phnom. Is this the right place to go or are there better places near the market?

My understanding was that buses are not running to Mondulkiri at this time.

Thanks!

Can confirm the road to Snuol is very good. Didn't see any signs indicating you could get to Sen Monorom by bus.

We took a bus from Smonorom to pp, it was July and the bus didnt run if it was raining, saengthaws did but we waited for a dry day for the bus, front seats , very comfortable, we couldnt face another saengthaw ride, the trip from Kratie to Smonorom was a liitle TOO much !! as said from Snuol to pp is a good fast road
