Moalboal to Maya without going through Cebu ?Country forums / South-East Asia Islands & Peninsula
Hello. Looking at Google Maps, there is a costal road linking Moalboal to Maya (for Malapascua). Is there any way to take that route (any public transportation or van or taxi ?). From Cebu to Moalboal, I will probably take the bus, and Maya to Cebu may take a taxi to save time. Recommendations welcome.
There is a coastal road but buses dont run there. Much easier to get a bus from Moalboal to Southern Bus Terminal in Cebu City, take a taxi or Jeepney to the Northern Terminal, then bus to Maya. Will be a long day, expect 7 hours or more.. | 1
Thanks. And would I save a lot of time if taking a taxi on the coastal road ? How much would it be ? | 2
Taxis from Moalboal, if you can find one, will automatically head to Carcar then Cebu City. They probably wont even mention going up the coastal road. Take a bus to Cebu City, much easier.. | 3

I just happened to see this question, and would like to add more info to help others who might be asking this as well. I understand this is 2 years late. I've done land trips to the north, south, and central Cebu. Last was mid last year, 2017. If you have your own ride or maybe renting/leasing one. There is a route that you can use to avoid traffic from Carcar to Lilo-an. So that means you can escape the mad jam in Cebu City. From Moalboal, use the coastal road on the left side of the island. The only slight traffic you will be involved in is at Toledo City. Continue to go north, and upon reaching Tuburan town, turn right and go straight leading to Luyang brgy, which is part of Borbon (but its coast is in Tabogon). Reaching that corner, turn to the left and within 40 mins (depending on vehicle's speed) you will be in Bogo City. The rest is easy. Just follow the road signs to Maya, Daan Bantayan. From Bogo, it's like 32 kms. You can use the "mainline" road (suggested since less potholes), or the one passing "Batteria", which exits in La Libertad, Daan Bantayan (shorter distance, but the unrepaired road as of today can make a milkshake straight out from a cow). :-) Hope this can help out. | 6
