Merida to Uxmal to Campeche possible in 1 day ?

Dear Yucatan experts,

is the following feasible or total madness?
- take an early bus (around 7am ?) from Merida to Uxmal ruins (1,5 hrs?)
- visit Uxmal ruins (3 hrs)
- take a bus from Uxmal to Sta Elena
- have lunch at The Pickled Onion
- take a bus from Sta Elena to Campeche (around 2 or 3 pm?)
- attend the Sound & Light show at 8 pm at Parque Principal in Campeche

Your plan all depends upon the second class bus schedule between the places you want to visit (although Uxmal and Sta Elena are close enough you could hire a local taxi). I don´t remember the schedule, suggest you check yucatantoday or other sources (even the bus station in Merida once you arrive). If the schedule is promising, then your plan sounds doable.

The only thing that seems to be unavailable on the internet is the second class bus schedule :o)
I guess I better go to the bus station in Merida once I get there.

I found several sites that mention a schedule with morning departures from Merida to Uxmal at 06h and 09h, but don`t know about the rest of your route. You could try asking one of the hotels in Santa Elena by email.

I will try to ask the lady at the Pickled Onion. She is very good in replying to mails/questions.
