| harry_mudd07:24 UTC30 Apr 2007 | at 5 to noon on the 11th of May, Harry has to standing in front of the receptionist at the Oaks on market, 50 market street.
I was thinking of coming down via Virgin the day before and spending a night or two there.
What about Jetstar? How does one get from the place Virgin or jetstar lands to the hotel on Market street?
How long does it take? I think I can get Jetstar on the same day, so how much time do I allow to get to the hotel on time?
tah.

I'll either be staying in the Oaks or the Clarion Suites gateway.

| rrrjjjmmm16:30 UTC30 Apr 2007 | your life is going to be easiest flying virgin blue - going into tullamarine, rather than jetstar going into avalon.
that way you can get the skybus from tulla ($14) to Spencer St/Southern Cross station. Then it's a 10 min walk up Collins St to Market St from there.
jetstar is going to cause unnecessary hassles.
If you need to be there by noon - flying from sydney and assuming that everything runs like clock work, 9am flight, getting in at 10.20, bags by 10.40, bus by 11.00, city by 11.30, 10 min walk to market street.

| harry_mudd14:09 UTC02 May 2007 | OK, thanks all.
I've booked the flight into Tulla, I've booked the Hotel (Oaks) and I've booked the bus ($24 return X 2). Even get a free ride from Spencer street to the hotel.
If I catch the 6am shuttle from Spencer street, will this get there in time? I leave Tulla at 7:10am and Virgin want you there 30mins prior. Skybus say it is a 20 minute trip, so should give 20 minute leeway. it's that or catch the 5:30.

| sugoi14:18 UTC02 May 2007 | do Virgin have that 30min cut off like JetStar? If they do I wouldn't risk it otherwise you should be fine.

| sugoi14:19 UTC02 May 2007 | next question (sorry doing a DC) - will you be checking in luggage or just hand luggage.? If checking in I think I would take the earlier bus, it could be a bit busy at the hour of the morning.

| harry_mudd06:03 UTC03 May 2007 | OK, it's Mrs Mudd's birthday a few days later, so what about a fancy restaurant within a short walk of the oaks on Market?
| 13 |
| secco9906:32 UTC03 May 2007 | What is your budget for the restaurant?
If there is no budget, I'd suggest Vue de monde or a little cheaper is Bistro Vue
Also there is a restaurant at Oaks on Market.
