manatee tours in caye caulkerCountry forums / Central America / Belize
Hello, | ||
A few years ago I engaged the services of Mr. Chocolate and enjoyed a prima manatee experience. He knew his business. Ive never made a reservation for anything in Belize and through many trips never had a problem. | 1
I second what eddy said about Chocolate....I can't imagine anyone being a better guide for manatee viewing. Since you're going in low season, you may want to contact him ahead of time. I was there in April and just happened to get lucky by going by Chocolate's place just in time to get on the only trip he did that week. He said that there had not been many tourists, so he wasn't going out as often as usual. | 2
Since you are going to be there a few days, go see him at the beginning of your stay. If it rains one morning, he may postpone the trip | 3
if you have the opportunity and time. Go with chocolate. As #3 said see him at the beginning of you stay and find out when he is going out. He is the man that brought Mantees awareness in Belize. To go with anyone else would be foolish. Kind of like learning about gorillas with Jane Goodall. | 4
