Madidi National Park

The Madidi National Park, one of the world´s most diverse,. is under threat from illegal logging, indiscriminate settlement and road buidling, and possibly even exploration for oil and gas.
At petitiononline.com/dgquest/ there is an on-line petition asking UNESCO to intervene.
If you have visited, or plan to visit Madidi, please consider taking a few minutes to sign the petition. UNESCO may not be able to do much in practical terms but its influence could help in persuading national and local authorities to take a firm stance in protecting the park.
