Luggage Delay

I was scheduled to take a flight from Antananarivo to Mahajanga on Tues early morning but the flight was delayed. This is not an unusual occurrence but what was different this time was that none of our baggage was able to come with us as we were put on very small prop plane that held about 18 people.
Only bags we had were our carry on could come with us.
I had two other bags that totaled 43.5 kilos that I had to hope would arrive and remember to lock your luggage.
Air Mad said our bags would come the following morning at 10 30. I went to the airport for my bags but the plane from Tana was to come in at 6 that night instead. I did not receive any call to this effect so I returned to the airport 6 that evening.
Of the 15 people on board only three of us showed up for our bags. Others choose to have their bags delivered to their hotel. The three of us who did show up at the airport had to go jump through a series of hoops to ask for compensation. Then at that point they just took down our names and asked us to report to the Air Madagascar office in Mahajanga.

Again the next morning I went to the Air Mad office where after retelling the story again I was able to receive
100,000 ariary. I did not see the other two folks. And as for the other 12 passengers they would receive nothing. I spoke to no less than 8 air Mad staff to tell my story and did not receive one sorry. Though it was expressed several times over that I will get my bags and that should be enough for you, don't complain.
When I asked could I file a report, they said yes. When asked for the form there was none. I could write my report and send it in. I asked send it to who, there was no name to send it to. It was mentioned I could go to Air Mad website but that would not help anyone who does not have internet.
I send this message out so that others see they have a way to help fix AirMadagascar with their trip reports and file for compensation though the sum was small

The poster OHZ had some fine bullet points about safe guarding your luggage and they too also received 100,000ar in compensation.
