Looking for a book on free places to pitch in EuropeInterest forums / The Long Haul - Living & Working Abroad
I've been told about a book that gives you tips on where you can stay (motorhome or tent) for free. For example farmers that let you stay on their property for free, or in return for a little work. Supposedly some even have facilities you can use.
Hi, | 1 | |
The two major UK motorhome and caravan clubs should be able to give you answers missfernie. I know one of the two has a list of a group of member farms in France at least where you can park for the night and sample their wine or cheese in the morning. No obligation to buy but it's polite to buy a couple of bottles I believe. In France and Germany there are free motorhome sites provided by many towns. On the Highways in France you look for signs saying Aire and they are another place you can stop for free. Some have facilities including pump outs, water and electric and some are just a place to park. | 2
Thanks for both of your suggestions. I didn't think about contacting the uk clubs. How stupid of me! I'll get onto it! Which one in particular has a list of member farms? | 3
There are 2 main ones. I don't recall their names but Google should find them for you pretty easily. | 4
