lockers at La Paz (El Alto) airport?

Country forums / South America / Bolivia

I'm flying from the US to La Paz to do some exploring around Bolivia for 2 weeks. I'd like to bring my ipad/laptop and noise cancelling headphones with me on the plane rides, but not carry them while in country. I was thinking I could store them in a locker at the airport and get them for the return flight:

  1. Can anyone confirm if there are lockers available for rent at the airport?
  2. Is it crazy to think they won't be stolen by the time I return (2 weeks)?
  3. Assuming either there are no lockers, or they would be robbed if used, what about in La Paz itself? Has anyone found a way to do what I'm talking about?

I'd love to travel as light as possible, and I won't need the electronics while in country. But I'd love to have them while on the plane rides...

Thank you!

It's amazing how people are attached to their gadgets. Leave the junk at home and enjoy your trip.
Happy travels!

If you aren't going to use them on the trip, it isn't worth bringing them. Anything stored for 2 weeks is a) vulnerable and b) going to be expensive to store. There is, apparently, a "guarda de equipajes" at El Alto airport if you want.

@Fieldgate
Equally amazing how many people feel compelled to make a judgmental post with no useful information. Thanks for your well wishes!

Thanks, I think you are right it might be expensive to use a service like this just for something I'm using during the flights. Good to know there's an option, though. Thanks very much.

i just stored a suitcase at the airport in the guarda eqipaje for three days and it seemed untouched. it is 25 bolivianos (about 3 US$) per day. however I was recomended by my travel agency not to leave expensive stuff there.
