Since getting tickets in Beijing seems to be pretty difficult or impossible for Mid-September, I now consider other options, like going from Guangzhou, or Chengdu, even Shanghai. Since these are not daily trains (and I do not want to waste too much time waiting):
Can anyone tell me the departure dates in the time-span of 13th to 22nd September ? Or direct me to the source of information ?

If Chengdu was really difficult in April. I cant see it being any easier in September.

Mid-September it is still going to be difficult to get train tickets (but not imposible). It should become a little easier after October Holiday is over.
